Local poet and author Magnus Mateo leads the "Back to Basics" writing workshop with a focus on the following prompt:

How is your life different compared to 10 years ago? How is it similar?

The writing workshop will take up to 30 minutes, with a short break and an open mic to follow. Each participant will have 5-7 minutes to share what they've written during the workshop. The goal of this event is to engage participants in a low stakes activity to kick off a creative year.
